1. Rental requirements (Insurance rules)
To rent a vehicle with Kyrgyz Nomad Rentals you must meet these conditions:
• Age: 23–60 years. For drivers older than 60, extended insurance options are available for an additional fee.
• Driving experience: minimum 3 years. If your current license was recently renewed, attach the previous license showing earlier experience.
• Security deposit: paid with cash at pickup, amount depends on vehicle type (typically 400–700 USD or equivalent in Euro or KGS). Deposit is refundable upon return of the vehicle in acceptable condition, subject to deductions for any damage, traffic rules fines, fuel shortage, dirty car condition or late return. For details, refer to rental agreement.
• Accepted cards: Visa and MasterCard only. Virtual cards (Revolut type) and American Express are not accepted.
• We recommend that every traveler buys personal medical and travel insurance for the trip.
2. What vehicle insurance covers
A rental vehicle is insured for accidents occurring on public roads within the Kyrgyz Republic.
• Included coverage: third-party liability and a standard comprehensive policy for the rented vehicle, subject to deduction
• Territory: cover applies only inside Kyrgyzstan on public roads. Off-road driving is not covered unless explicitly agreed in writing.
• Third-party limit: up to 1,000,000 KGS for damage to other parties (subject to policy terms).
Standard deductible
• Standard deductible is 400 USD per incident.
• If the vehicle is damaged beyond economical repair, the deductible may be calculated as a percentage of the vehicle value, as listed in your rental agreement.
3. Optional supplemental protection package
You can add an optional protection package when booking to reduce your financial exposure.
• Rate: 15 USD per day
• What does it cover:
• Tires: replacement cost for completely destroyed tires (delivery and repair time are not covered).
• Rims: cost of rim replacement when damaged.
• Front windscreen: replacement of the front windshield.
• Battery: replacement if battery fails and replacement is needed.
• Headlights and tail lights: replacement costs for broken lights.
• Important notes:
• The lessor sets the replacement part cost; final amounts are subject to the supplier invoice.
• If you purchase the supplemental pack, we will not charge for the above listed components at return, provided the damage falls within the pack terms.
• The supplemental pack does not cover damage caused by excluded activities (see non-covered events below).
• Any independent purchases made by the renter without prior approval are not reimbursable.
4. Events not covered by insurance or the supplemental pack
The following events are not covered and will be charged to the renter:
1. Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs or substances.
2. Failure to obtain required police documentation after an incident.
3. Damage caused by off-road driving, river fording, or driving on forbidden roads.
4. Damage to underbody parts, suspension, tyres, wheel alignment, gearbox or engine oil pan, glass and optical elements if caused by off-road use.
• Example: if a shock absorber is torn off, a control arm bent, or oil pan damaged due to rough road driving, this is not covered.
5. Documents needed to process an insurance claim
To open and process an insurance case you must provide:
• Official police documents from the scene (see step 6 below), including the accident report and accident scheme.
• Accident reference issued by police.
• Medical alcohol test result (if performed).
• Copies of driver’s passport and driving license.
• Car technical passport or registration (for the other party, if applicable).
6. What to do immediately after an accident
Follow these steps precisely:
1. Ensure safety first. Check if anyone needs medical help. Call emergency services if required.
2. Contact Kyrgyz Nomad Rentals immediately. We will advise on the next steps.
3. Call the police (phone number 112 or 102) and ask them to come to the scene. Obtain an official police report.
4. Take clear photos and videos of the vehicles, scene, road signs, skid marks and surrounding area from multiple angles.
5. Follow police instructions — remain with the officer until they complete the formalities. Police usually retain the driver’s license and vehicle technical passport for processing.
6. Expect that police procedures can take 12-24 hours or more, depending on the location. Vehicles may be towed to an official police parking area.
7. Pay any official government fines or towing fees required by authorities. Keep receipts.
8. Collect all police documents: report of accident, accident scheme, accident reference and any medical test results.
9. Bring the police documents and copies of your documents to our office to complete the rental-side formalities.
7. Towing, repair and timelines
• If the vehicle cannot be driven, police or authorized services will tow the car to a secure parking area. Towing and storage fees may be charged by authorities — retain all receipts.
• Repairs and insurer decisions may take several days. We will keep you updated and help coordinate with the insurer.
• In remote areas response times can be longer. Plan accordingly and keep the company informed with photos and videos.
8. Fines, liability and deposit handling
• You are responsible for fines and penalties resulting from traffic violations committed during the rental time.
• If the incident is subject to deductible, the deductible amount will be charged from the security deposit or billed to the renter.
• Unauthorized driving in forbidden areas will void insurance and may result in full deposit forfeiture.
9. Contact and support
• In any incident, contact Kyrgyz Nomad Rentals immediately: kyrgyznomadrentals@gmail.com.
• When reporting, send date, time, GPS location, short description and videos or photos of the scene. This helps us act faster and gives you the best chance to resolve the case.
